Was getting wildly varying torque specs for doing a Q7 complete brake job in the various forums and knew I needed a real service manual.
I'm glad to be of service. I use mine all the time.

Would like to get this but the C5 A6 is only listed till 2003. I have the 2004 S-line. The 2004 A6s are listed as C6s. Where is the section where the VIN is inputted?

Hi, new Audi owner, and in looking for where to get the service manual, found this.
When they say "create fittings and wiring diagrams", what do they mean? They then say "I am sure that you will not select the proper files for your car. You cannot create the wiring diagram and fitting locations for your exact car." But from what I understand erWIN only shows relevant info for your VIN....so..... ??

Hello Nakedhoof,

I attempted a purchase on a manual for my Audi, but I got a little unsure as the VIN could be entered later on after the payment. Is it correct that you pay first, then provide the VIN? Do factory-manuals contact you via email after payment to get the VIN, or how does it work exactly? I emailed factory-manuals, but haven't received any answer.

I believe you get the make, model and year and then submit payment. It will return a link where you enter vin number. They will prepare a manual that is intended for your vehicle from their open subscription to Audi's manuals and then send you a link that expires in a given amount of time. You can download and make as many copies as you wish. I'm almost positive that this was the scenario I went through to purchase my manual a year or so ago, perhaps more.

Just received a 3600-page manual for my 1996 S6 4.2 from Factory Manuals, it is truly impressive.

That's the one I used, they have a multi user subscription service or something like that with the manufacturer and upload your vin to get the Audi manual specifically made for your car. They then upload it and let you access it. Make several copies so you'll never lose it. They're great as far as I'm concerned. Happy wrenching!
