Expensive wiper blades
I went to the dealer to buy wiper blades for the Q5, and bought this instead. I walked into the showroom and this A6 was sitting there, exactly the way I would option it. I had no choice.

I've just the sold the 911 (not driving it enough), and I prefer driving a car, so the Q5 needed to go.

I also sold a 911 & replaced it with an A6. Although the A6 will never be considered an identical replacement (a good thing...), I've been impressed by how capable the car is. No regrets.
Yet, the A6 doesn't preclude more Porsches.
Good luck with yours.

Yes, some fast talking was required and some eyes were rolled, but I reminded her that that sale of the Porsche and trade-in of the Q5 in exchange for the A6 boosted her bank account by $50k. She immediately went shopping.

I traded a Cayman S for an S6, so maybe it's more common than it seems?

"Tis far better to ask forgiveness than permission." And speaking of "Asking for permission" here's a classic ad for a BMW motorcycle. "For Sale, nearly new R1200RT BMW Motorcycle. Less than 1,000 miles. Must sell as I misunderstood my wife when I asked permission to buy it and she said, 'Do whatever the F#@K You want' ".
