Default Electronic Brake Malfunction

Just received this warning message yesterday. Does not go away.
I can here some mechanical noises from the left rear wheel well when I shut the car off.
Car still drives normally. Anyone else experience this?

Parking Brake Control Module needs to be replaced.
Part will take at least 5 days.
Total cost for repair? $1600

I think I'm done with Audi. Shame. Nice cars and fun to drive.

Am I being too harsh with Audi by considering replacing 3 water pumps ( including the original) and a Parking Brake Control Module in 6 years and 29,500 miles excessive and unacceptable?

Your experience does not mirror many of those on this and many other boards. You have only done 29,500 miles in 6 years which is very low mileage for this type of car. I wonder if low usage part of the reason you are having issues

Well, the Water Pump seems to be an issue according to some. As for the miles, i drive what I drive. Seems odd that low mileage would have an effect. I do use it every day. It’s not sitting there for weeks at a time.

Over 9 years and 83,500 miles. Car runs trouble free. Only regular maintenance.
