Some posts on motor-talk.de seem to indicate that a new/additional ground connection was installed between the steering rack and chassis. While most of the TSB may be software, the additional grounding may be part of it as well.

Well my steering software was updated. I never had an issue with it. I now have steering like my fathers Cadillacs of the 1980,s and 1990! In dynamic it is similar to the old comfort mode. I have requested a convention back the old system. AOA was contacted by the dealer.

Do what I plan to do and make it plainly clear that they are not permitted to do this change to my car. I too like my steering as stiff as possible and I continue to read about this change negatively affects the steering stiffness

Unfortunately my 14 A6 came standard with this update, and I recently got a "quality" survey from AOA and I blasted the crappy steering. This is the worst steering I have had in any car. Honestly if this is what it will be like for the next 3 years I can pretty much say this will be my first and last Audi. Why have a sporty European sedan if it rides like a 1980 Town Car.

In my opinion the steering is too light and no real feedback. I recall test driving the 13 and not being over whelmed by how good the steering was, but don't remember it feeling this light. I leave the steering in Dynamic all the time. It is a very disconnected feeling, not sure if S6 has better steering.

I drove my car today in dynamic mode most of the day and the steering is just awful! If they can not revert it back I will trade it for BMW 5 series. I would not purchase an S6 until I could drive a 2014 model. The steering should be stiffer, one would think that anyway. I am very disappointed with the whole car now.
