When you start the car, what does the shift lever indicate? S or D? I'll bet it's D until you pull the lever back for S. Even though the MMI still says Dynamic, it will always revert the engine and throttle maps to Auto/Comfort ("D"). Steering, ACC and seat belt will remember the Dynamic setting.

When starting out in D, pull the lever to S and see if you can feel a pronounced difference. Again, I'd bet you will.
