You do need a towel/pool noodle under the seat to ensure it's level and the passenger seat is a bit forward and I would highly encourage a mirror on the head rest to be able to see what the little guy is up too.

Good to hear! Just picked that seat out as we're preparing for our first baby.. Infant seat first of course. Are you not using a seat protector underneath?

You can also use a foam tube (similar to the floaties used for swimming) to keep the seat level. Our local police dept. helped install/check ours and gave one that fit. Wouldn't think you would need to protect the leather from the car seat since leather is pretty resilient. Ideally you would want to protect against cheerios, gold fish ... but unless you shrink wrap your back seat that probably is not going to happen.

Nope. Brown towel rolled up to level the seat. Regular cleaning is the only thing that'll save the interior from baby destruction.
