Just purchased a '13 A6 with Dakota Gray / Nougat Brown and am considering tinting my windows. What if any percent tinting have you done? Did you do the front / rear seats the same or different percent of tint?

Also check your local laws (or installers will know also). In a lot of States, Rear Windows are permitted to be a lot darker tint than front.

I went with 3m crystalline 50 all around and couldn't be more pleased. It is shocking how far tint has progressed in the past 20 years. If you want to keep the sun and heat out of your car, I don't think you can beat the crystalline.

If you want to black out your car to match black optics package and black wrapped trim etc.. I imagine some other tint may be more appropriate. Personally , I like to keep my car looking factory fresh and value tint performance over its aesthetic qualities.

I did FormulaOne Pinnacle ceramic tint, 30% (medium) all around, and am happy with it. Especially by the amount of sun and heat it blocks.

I have Havanna Black with Nougat interior. Live in CA. Didn't want to draw too much attention from law enforcement, so went with 70% on front/rear/back windows to keep the look consistent. I'm happy with the look. Had it done in Walnut Creek and cost $295 for installation.

I have LLumar ceramic film.

15% on the rear windshield
30% on the sides
AirBlue film on the front windshield

35% 3M Color stable all around (except front windshield).

I did the same and I am very happy. I thought 30% would have been darker though.
