CLA-45 AMG...I Think I'm in Lust
First, let me start by saying that I'm a tried and true "Audi Guy" having moved from a B7 S4, to an S5 and now my C7 A6...with a 996 Turbo in-between just to keep things interesting. All that said, when I saw pics of the CLA-45 AMG this weekend, I loved the look. After reading some advanced reviews and specs (AWD and cranks out 355 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque from just a 2.0 liter 4-banger w/ a mid-4s 0-60 time starting at @ $50K), I've decided to give this car a very serious look to replace the A6. While I haven't seen MPG numbers yet, the 4-cylynder will no doubt be a huge improvement over the current 6.3 V8. Ya, I know it's smaller, with back seats that are only suitable for Lilliputians, but this car is one sweet little pocket rocket.

Very impressive performance numbers considering this is an AMG with only a $50K price. Way too small for my likes, but I do like this new direction for Mercedes.

yeah, it's a looker for sure. I had a similar thought when I first saw it. May be 50 to start but with what included? Mercedes really likes to add on the options $
The new S3 will have similar numbers, 39K base, though not quite as attractive.

I just started having the itch to "downsize" into something smaller and sportier. This looks like a heck of a performance bargain but perhaps too abrupt a size downgrade.

Got me looking at some reviews for the 2013 S60 R Design and it gets amazingly positive reviews on YouTube. 2014 will have paddle shifters (the major complaint in most reviews was the lack thereof in 2013), 0-60 in low 5's, and some nice safety features (especially pedestrian and cyclist avoidance in PV with all the cyclists). Should manage the switchbacks and PV Drive East nicely (I grew up in the Miraleste/RPV area).
To OP...that Merc looks very nice.
