I wonder if Audi has a factory position open for dental floss 2.0T badge removal - it might suit me in my retirement and be worth relocating to the Fatherland lol

Actually "delete model insignia" is a common European option as I recall. Certainly we saw no end of badgeless cars when we were there recently.

I seem to recall one of the C5 RS6 guys badging his as a 1.8T

I think the fact that Audi sells "S-line" cars speaks to how many people want the "show" without the "go", so no one should be surprised by "upbadging"... though my opinion is well known:

If you have a "Prestige" model, as I have, then it has the S-Liine trim. I don't see that as an up-badge, as long as you don't put on "S6". So I put an "S-line" badge under the A6 and removed the 3.0T and put "Supercharged" just above the Quattro badge. Looks nice IMHO, and correctly characterizes the car.

Fair enough, and I should probably be a little cautionary as my greatest familiarity with S-line was C5 era Seems to me that back then it was "Pay more to look like the up-engined car without paying as much as up-engining costs."

I would agree that AoA doesn't give one a lot of choice about it - if you want the full-featured car you have to get some appearance stuff. Honestly I might well have ditched it from the S6 if I could.... I'm more about the sleeper look!

Personally I would leave it alone, but not having the quattro badge in the back bothers him and just putting the small "quattro" badge would make it look odd, so it's either both or none. Are there aftermarket sources for this item that sell it cheaper than $100?
Good to know that. I got a pre owned Audi A5 2.0 with 18k miles from dealer and realized afterwards it didn't have the 2.0T in the back. I never knew the reason why, and now I do! Since it doesn't have it on the back I'll leave it be. Keeps it mysterious i suppose and 1 less thing for me to wax around. Lol

Yes, I'm aware some do that, and to each their own, but I saw a brand new one that was on the lot, my year (on You tube) that didn't have one on too. However I just saw a 2018 A5 on the showroom floor and it had one. So hummmm....lol. weird. Lol. I know the person that had my car. He is in his late 50s and is the County Clerk at the Court House. I didn't ask him but I doubt he would debadge. Lol.
