The Bose Stereo. Or, how I learned to stop worrying and love crappy audio.
Let me bottom line this for the group...
This stereo sucks.
The subwoofer is an abomination, the power output is miserable, and well, Bose should be ashamed.
I didn't pick up the B&O because I could spend $6k and upgrade the Bose to acceptability, but I had no idea how bad it would be. Not sure if the B&O is six grand better, but based on what I know from the Danish job in the S4, it would have at least been acceptable.
Avoid at all costs.

Spending $6000 on the B&0 and just getting acceptable does not make it worth it. You should be impressed by it when you hear it.
For much less than $6000, you can make some great improvements to the Bose to make the system acceptable, or even more than acceptable.
If you are getting the Prestige, you can't avoid the Bose.

I cannot speak for everyone...
However i absolutely hate the standard BOSE system...Its a piece of crap for a car like this..There was a time that BOSE used to be great but now its just another game....
Unlike most people, i actually listened to B&O in both A6 and A7 before i ordered mine with the S6 ...
There is a hell and heaven difference between both.. Whether ur needs justify the cost is a personal choice ..
I am glad i went with B&O..Its truly phenomenal
However i absolutely hate the standard BOSE system...Its a piece of crap for a car like this..There was a time that BOSE used to be great but now its just another game....

For me it's the power output that's just abysmal. Radio and Sirius is about 20 decibels less than MP3 through SD or Bluetooth audio.
With the windows down, forget about listening to either choice.
Bass is ok for me...

Have to say, the Bose is weak. The speakers actually buzz at level 25 (moderately loud). Glad I didn't shovel another $6K to Audi for a different audio system. I'll get my own in the future...
