Default Need help with a couple things

Glad to join the community.

I have been experiencing some issues with my car.
*Recently the Advanced Key feature stopped working. I cannot open/close the doors via the touch surfaces in any door and i cant open the trunk either. The only way to lock/unlock the doors is by using the remote key and pressing the lock/unlock buttons. What could it be?
*My other question is, how do i remove the trim cover that is located at the RIGHT SIDE of the TRUNK? (I'm talking about the trim cover that has a small net to place things)

Re: Your Key. Change the Battery, it's a CR2032 available at most drug or grocery stores.

Just push-in the button on the Chrome part an pull it off the black plastic part (it's a key). Then push the black button on the exposed part, pull it out and you'll see the battery.

Are you sure its the battery?
I mean, everything else works fine, its just that the door handles dont seem to detect my hands. I can still lock/unlock it from faaaar away and start the car without having to place the key close to the dashboard.

I had the same issues with my VW Jetta and it was indeed the key fob batteries. Just change them, it will take care of the issue.

Newbai,

in answer to your question--No I have no idea if this is definitely the problem, but this little battery typically needs to be changed about once-a-year. It's the first and easiest thing to do when trying to trouble-shoot this problem. By the way, it takes only one 2032 battery, not two as some others do.

You do have two key(FOBs)?

Try the other one to reduce the problem variables.....
