This radar simply does not work if you have anA6.

The first problem is that It wont level out due to the way the windshield is and the way the stupid mount from V1 comes you have to "level" it out. Without being level it bounces up and down and is really annoying.

The second problem is if you have side assist the the V1 will constantly give you a K band alert, in order to avoid this you must disable the K band OR turn POP off. Turning both of those off is not an option for ME as in my area as the revenue generators use instant on (POP) and constantly use K band.

If you have a C7 and wish to use the V1 you can use the visor mount OR the blendmount mirror....but if you have side assist, you will have to turn POP or K band off.

There are a number of posts about using RDs with the C7. I haven't had a problem with my 9500ix, I have side assist.

We have had great success using a new K40 dash mounted unit RL100. I have had K40 installed in every Audi that we have had but decided to use a dash mounted unit in our 2012 A6. We have also used a Beltronics Vector 985 we have used as a back up or spare in the past in the new Audi also with no problem. We have the innovation package in a Prestige with side assist and have zero falsing. However, if we are behind another Audi that has side assist on-we will pick them up as K Band falsing. Not a big deal here since virtually all police use Ka band with some locals using X band. We have not had to turn off POP or K band in either detector. Everyone has their own opinion as to which detector is their favorite and everyone claims they have the best-I won't get into that at all. Simply I have never had any problems using K40 or Bel products in any Audi, Porsche, or Mercedes that we have had.

Now I gotta try it. It's been busy for me and did not have a chance to install my V1 yet. I do have side assist. I should try it out before running all the wire through the fuse box.

The car works fine with my V955 and 8500 but not with the V1. YMMV. Let me know guys.

I use the V1 with remote video and a heads up display on my motorcycle. On the Q7 just use it velcro'd to the dash, no issues. It is hands down the best radar detector in the world.

I tried it for the first time today in the A6. I noticed more K band alerts than before. I tried to see if it correlates to side assist alert but not sure. K band alert with or without side assist turned on. Orange, is this what you are seeing too? K band false alarm isn't on all the time but I do notice more frequent than usual.

What I don't like is with oncoming Infiniti which trigger my laser alerts all the time!
