A6 Wins Car & Driver Comparo

Thats just the V-Sport. The real V is coming with minimum 580hp. They're gonna have the same problem that I had with my 650hp 2011 CTS-V, no traction. You can't put that much power down through 2 tires. Finally, after Audi has been doing it for years, Mercedes realized that these super sedans need AWD. When are Caddy and BMW going to realize the same? Smoking the tires on the highway at 80mph is not fun. Its scary.

I just never got into bimmers and I can't pinpoint exactly why. I guess they never caught my eye; perhaps there are too many of them around in my neck of the woods. We've owned several MBs, mostly SUVs. We really liked the GLs, especially the turbo diesel. Though very nice vehicles, Mercedes Sedans just don't do anything for me, especially the exterior.
The A6 is only my second Audi that I've owned and there's something about the Audis that catch my eye. I love the lines of all Audi models. Those young engineers at Audi are doing something right because I'll be back for more.

Comparison
I've had two E-classes, two A6s and two 7's. My current A6 is probably my favorite because I haven't had much trouble with the Audi. I have a friend with the new ATS, and he has had it in the shop at least four times in its first year.
I looked at the CTS. It's just as expensive as the Germans. Nicely equipped the CTS is $66,000. I don't think that Cadillac has the prestige to charge as much as the Germans. My dealership was attempting to charge $2,500 over MSRP for the CTS. I think they've sold one.
Really, all of the comparison cars are really nice. We're lucky to have such good options.

"Standard of the World"? Not Quite. But they're the best America has, and can certainly play with the Germans.

Link to Car&Driver article below. Something to read between Turkey and Football.
Enjoy.

Why was the A6 so slow? Motor Trend has pulled a 4.6 and a 4.8 out of it to 60, yet C&D ran 5.6? Something isn't right.
If it wasn't raining, I'd go test mine to see who screwed up.

I just got around to reading the December issue and I noticed this too. I seem to recall that prior C&D comparos of these cars had the A6 beating the BMW to 60 by a good margin and that the number for the A6 was 4 something. My car had the oil consumption problem and I was told that part of the issue is the supercharger pressure. Is it possible that the NEWER model year (i.e. 2014) is slightly slower than the '12 and '13. My service guys told me that the horsepower on my '12 is understated at 310, maybe for '14 they slightly detuned it? (pure speculation on my part, probably not true). And on the flip side, since when does the 535 get to 60 close to 5.0? Something seems off here.
