Default 4 Zone Climate Control Question

Sorry I dont have a picture but on the 4 zone control, there is a very small black button in between the tempature adjustment *****. Its directly below the center of the display-does anyone know what this is? I checked the owners manaual and there is no description of it. It appears spring loaded as you can actually push it in.

Heres a pic. I thought it was a temp sensor, but if you can push it in, I guess not.

I picked up my new A6 Prestige last Wednesday, and have been wondering about that little "button" also...

Pretty sure it's a temp sensor (I believe there are more elsewhere including the sun sensor on the top of the dash). The springy feel is due to how the sensor is mounted in it's holder. Don't push it too hard. In fact, it's probably best not to push it at all.

I was told by my salesman that button was just for reference. That way if you want to adjust something, you don't have to look at the controls, just feel for the button and then you would know where everything is based on that reference point without taking your eyes off the road.

That same salesman didn't know that while the sync button syncs all 4 controls...just pushing the drivers side would just sync the front two only...so I take his explanation with a grain of salt.

The video is very informative but doesn't explain the "button" being discussed in this thread.

I always presume that is the temp sensor and never attempt to push it. And probably best not push it or it may dmange the sensor.
