Default Finally, pictures!

Did the first detail a month out. Here are some pics. N-joy.

Comments are welcome, but any flames regarding stylistic faux-pas will be gratuitously ignored.

Tint went without a hitch (stereo still works). 15% rear, 20% quarter windows.

Note the presence of smoke on the lights and the absence of any numbers/letters.

Clear Bra is hardly noticeable from afar.

Tinted the amber reflecters. @#$% you DOT!

Unfortunately, the reflector is not flush with the outer plastic, so there's no way to completely cover it.

Default Painted calipers

I painted the calipers with the G2 kit. Got the decals from eBay.

Took a few hours, had it up on jack stands for 2 days. I was obsessive and masked every tiny little thing on the brakes, and masked the fenders for overspray.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/18670/a5rearcaliper.jpg">
Used an old Testors paintbrush for the nooks &amp; crannies.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/18670/a5frontcaliper.jpg">
Left those bolts on the front calipers unpainted for contrast (and future maintenance).

Smoked tails look nice, I've been considering doing that as well. Thanks for sharing.

Default Well done. I especially like how you handled the headlights. Wheel Spacers?

You would be surprised how much they add to the cars stance/ aggressive look.

E-codes are a bit too $$$ for me. It's not like the old days - you could pop out the B5 reflectors in 10 minutes.

Considered future mods:
- spacers
- short shifter
- exhaust

Everything else I would think of adding already comes on the car.

Only thing I miss on the A5 is Phantom Black, you lucky devil.

Very clever indeed...maybe call them "smoked" corners instead of clear corners?

Default Respectfully disagreed. Adds one ungainly problem to minimize another (without correcting it).

The smoked tails I actually think look pretty good (and I don't generally like smoked tails). The smoked corners just look tacked-on to me. :/

Default I agree that it is not the "best" way to get rid of the orange corners, but...

...it does reduce their visual impact, although still not as clean as the euro corners. But, in the end, still clever, just not what you or I would do.
