Could it be possible that German manufacturers are working the laws of demand and supply?
By limiting its supply of premium cars, they can can drive the price upward. In that case, they will have more cars to sell in more lucrative markets, while still making a good margin on cars sold in the US.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

S5 just came in
My S5 (phantom black, black, navigation, tech, B+O, stainless) just came in (ordered the beginning of November). I am picking it up this week. My sense from talking to my dealer is that I got lucky, and that the wait could have been another two months at least.

From Audi
Your most recent allocation is available on AIM as of March 14. These vehicle orders will be scheduled for May Production with the target delivery month of June.
All carlines are 2008 Model Year (MY), except R8 which is 2009 MY. This is the last of the 2008 MY allocation for all carlines, except A6 Sedan and A6 Avant which will run through August Production. Allocation for two S4 Cabriolets has been placed in the National Allocation Account (NAT) to accommodate sold orders without allocation. There is no A4 3.2 Sedan, S4 Sedan, A4 3.2 Avant, A4 3.2 Cabriolet or A5 Coupe allocation this month.

From the Audizine Forums...
Apparently, Dan Rosen Imports in the Philly area had 7 A5 allocations this month...<ul><li><a href="http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=196575">Read more...</a></li></ul>

according to this, since I dont have an allocation, i'm gettting a 2009??
I am referring to this part:
"This is the last of the 2008 MY allocation for all carlines "
So starting with next month's allocations, the A5/S5 will be 2009s?

Thats a BS post. They did not get any. Just like the rest of us.
Some salesmen think its a good idea to still take orders hoping that some will just sit and wait. I would rather tell it like it is.

Re: Thats a BS post. They did not get any. Just like the rest of us.
I am inclined to agree with you here. I spoke to Don Rosen personnel at Philly auto show. They were NOT taking orders on S-5. Spoke to them again in past 2 weeks--same deal with A5 as well. Don Rosen sold that dealership some time ago and now owns Willow Grove Audi (sale required name stayed). Took best people with him. I could not get either a straight or what appeared as informed answer from Rosen. Just my experience and impressions.
