Audi Drive Select? Some say ready for order after 1/1/08? Any truth to this rumor?

Go ahead and order...
There is always going to be the NEXT new thing out there. Don't forget, torque vectoring is out there waiting in the wings somewhere.

In the December Automobile magazine...
They reviewed the new A4 and had some comments regarding the Drive Select. They said the biggest surprise was "the new dynamic steering, which works better than the black and white active steering offered by BMW."
It varies it's ratio by up to 100%. So the steering improvements alone sound significant and also the fact you can adjust it to your preference. The difference in ride comfort sounds less significant but if you live around rough roads the "comfort" setting would be better than nothing.
And then regarding the handling the torque vectoring can supposedly pretty much eliminate the little amount of understeer that the new chassis still has (which is already a huge improvement for Audi).
So while there are always new features coming around the corner, I think you would notice this one. I have an order in for manufacturing around February and I hope they will let us order it by then. If not, it's a real disservice to USA customers since it's already offered for Europe and apparently Aussie land.

I ordered mine already, but hoping that Drive Select will become option before it goes to build.
Everyone says something new is around the corner, but the point, is to get it on when alot of new changes are being made. The truth is '09 is going to bring alot of enhancements to A4 and A5 families, with that being said, if you can wait, i'd say wait, but if not then make the move. '09 seems like a good year, '10 etc probably won't bring as many changes.
That's thing you want to do is get in when there are alot of changes. That way you won't feel left out.
I couldn't wait, so I made the order, but if you can go for it.
