Default Brake Fluid Change (follow up)

Here is the info I found in Bently manual, if someone could comment, as I have asked about this few days ago:
"Bleeding sequence for vehicles with Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP)
Unlike ESP 5.3, ESP 5.7 does not incorporate hydraulic pump -V156-. Therefore it is not necessary to bleed the system with the diagnostic tester."
Checking on the eqipment list on this site for 2002 models and on, I found that B6 has esp 5.7, while 5.3 was last model year 2001, B5.
This indicates that it is not required to use VAG tool for brake fluid change, however as I know very little about this, it does not say that it would be a "good practice" to do so.
What is the final, technicaly correct answer on this subject.Forgive my presistance in clarifying this.
Thanks

Default I've never cycled the abs pump when bleeding brakes on my B6

I've bled them many times. No issues.

Default I think you need to cycle the pump to change ALL of the fluid. Some will hang up there otherwise.

This is a theory.

Default Makes sense what you are saying, however......

Bentley manual claims that vehicles equiped with ESP 5.7 do not incorporate hydraulic pump V156, therefore, we can't cycle one since apperantly we don't have one. I have no clue if that is the pump that pretains to this subject, meaning is that the one you are reffering to. Man, you have to love these manuals. They are certanly not made for morons like myself, I guess you have to have some vehicle specific knowledge to use them effectively.
