Does VAG-COM work with 02 A4's? I know it won't with '02 A6's.

Yeah, we have conflicting reports. Perhaps it is just the S6 that needs Twin-com? Not enough data.
I've heard both reports from Ross-tech themselves that the 2002 needs the twin-com and doesn't need it. Maybe it depends on the model.

The skinny:
2002 A4: Some cars have dual K-Lines and some don't. We believe the dividing line is whether they have Xenon headlights. However, most of the modules will be on the primary K-line, and the only ones you can't access without a TWIN-COM if the car does have dual K-Lines are: 36-Seat Memory, 37-Navigation, 55-Headlight Range, and 56-Radio. That means you can do all the popular tweaks to other systems (like 46-Central Covenience) with any normal interface.
2002 A6: All cars have dual K-Lines, and the modules are split roughly 50/50 between them. The Central Locking module is ALWAYS on the secondary K-Line, which means you MUST have a TWIN-COM to do the popular locking tweaks on these.
The VAG-COM software works fine with both.
