Default Hotchkis S4 H-Sport Sways installed !!!

Went to a local shop/tuner for the install...
Just took about 1.5 hrs and I was otta there

Here's what Hotchkis includes in the kit:
(1) - 24mm Rear Sway
(1) - 35mm Front Sway
(2) - Rear Bushings w/brackets
(2) - Front Bushings w/brackets
(2) - Front Bushing mounting plates
(1) - Grease Packet

The shop used a frame lift hoist to elevate the B6 in lieu of a 4-wheel lift hoist (one was not available)...
A 4-wheel lift hoist (or ramps) are actually prefered because a car that is loaded or at rest on the ground creates a situation that the sways are not at stress and can be easily removed and installed...

No worries, while using the frame lift hoist, the wheels were lifted to allow for ease of install.

Comparison of Rear Sways:
S4 H-Sport (24mm) vs. OEM Stock Sport (18mm)

Here are a few pics of the rear install:

There are 2 choices for ride preference while installing the rear sway. The outer hole connection of the sway will provide a solid front-to-rear balance ride,...
While the inner hole connection will provide a more aggressive feel...
I went for the inner hole "Aggressive Feel".

Close Up of left rear control arm connection.

Comparison of Front Sways:
OEM Stock Sport vs. S4 H-Sport

Here are a few pics of the front install:

With the car elevated and the wheels hangin', the underbelly plastic pan actually is slightly deflected because of the increased diameter of the front sway vs. OEM stock sport...

No worries though, once the car is back on the ground, clearance of the underbelly pan clears by more than 3/4"...

Some Initial Driving Observations:
Had a chance to take a few aggressive corners on the way home and it definitely holds the turn line much cleaner w/ very reduced roll...
Turn in, and exiting corners are a blast in that the rear feels more planted and willing to carve the turn.

Tomorrow, more spirited driving to come

Why would you want a larger front sway on an understeering car?

actually it still neutralizes handling. The front is 60% stiffer and the rear is over 150% stiffer

Default Hey Bro. I just tried to all you. I'm just back from the shop...

Yet again a long day, almost 10 hrs to completely remove and reinstall the whole suspension.

Back in is the modified PSS9, the front upper links by CPP, the front lower links custom modified by CPP. In the rear and new from this year, the reworked/modified lower table/big arm by CPP and of course not to forget the OEM S4 rear sway bar.

Man the car feels great, nice an stiff and that steering input is to die for. Still need an alignment which will be done next week.

On the way home I could not resist the temptation, I floored it on an empty stretch of highway and hit 260 KPH, that's ~ 162 MPH, but i know the speedometer is off. This summer I'll find out the true top speed with my portable GPS.

Default What type of bushings does it use?

I had a Suspension Techniques front and rear sway bar on my old Civic that used polyurathane bushings and after a while, that thing creaked and made noises like crazy when going over bumps, even after I greased it...it drove me nuts!

Thats really the only reason I wouldn't upgrade...unless maybe these aren't the same?

Default Drag, no where near the red line. Wait until the body kit goes back on, it might help...

Also, when I got to 260, I backed off, it could have continued to climb, very slowly besides I don't have my max performance tires on yet.

Default nooooo!

I will be changing my name soon to "clean.conscience" lol!

P.S. Eddie is an enabler and I believe that a B6 group intervention is now required for Dan.
