Leatherette! Cloth will start to wear faster than leatherette! I would rip eveything out and go with REAL LEATHER!

Default Um ... why would you go with real leather if durability is the concern?

Did somebody forget to sip their mountain dew this morning?

Default Had both leatherette and leather in my A4/S4 for nearly 3 years...

...the leatherette looked factory brand new after nearly 3 years. My leather has lots of small cracks and stopped looking brand new after about 6 months.

Default I've had both ... from all I know leatherette is much longer lasting

after only 7k miles I started seeing obvious signs of wear on leather

I just saw a 10kmile 02 A4 with champagne leatherette and the interior looked just about brand new.

Default I can't get real Leather on an 1.8T A4....

So I'm deciding on Cloth or Leatherette, the salesguy said cloth would hurt resale big time, but I don't really care since I plan to keep the car for a LONG time (unless it has massive problems)

I could get Real Leather if I got a 3.0 A4, but I like the Brushed Metal better then the wood. And it costs a heck of a lot more, IMO not worth it.

Default I vote for leatherette. But, re: the alumininum interior trim...

...unless you are buying an '02, you may be out of luck. According to others who have posted here recently, Audi is doing away with the alum. trim beginning with the '03s.

What are they replacing it with? I'm waiting impatiently for the '03 specs...

Default 14 years with cloth. Yes, it is very tired now. Fine up until 2 to 3 years ago.

Default I wonder how many people who had problems with leather....

Have spent the time to clean and condition their leather. I have a 2000 leather 2.8 and my brother has a newer Lexus RX300 with leather also. The leather in his Lexus looks tired, in my Audi it looks great still. The difference is that I've taken care of mine by cleaning and conditioning it once in a while.
