Default Touareg Torch w/a TWIST...

This has been on the mod list for awhile but was dreading the fact that on my 2003 B6, the cigarette lighter socket flips open for use. Don't get me wrong, this is a good `cause the cigarette lighter is hidden, outta sight w/a clean finish look feature (I believe was lost on latter B6 models). Problem is that when using the Touareg Torch (LED Flash Light), the flip-feature will NOT work... Torch too long

Well Finally, pulled the trigger on the Touareg Torch and thought up a solution for my problem.

<center><b><u>Touareg Torch

Picked it up at the dealer...Dealer price was pretty reasonable while if ordered on-line, you may save a few bucks but pay it back in shipping...Not only that, but this way I get right away...
Well anyways, here is my solution; Check it out...

<center><b><u>Cigarette Lighter w/ Flip Feature</u></b>
<b>(note: adjacent storage bin)
<img src="http://images.snapfish.com/34243%3A7523232%7Ffp3%3B%3Dot%3E232%3C%3D649%3D54% 3A%3DXROQDF%3E232369656%3B272ot1lsi"></b></center>

When I was the dealer, I also pick up a cigarette lighter socket to retrofit into the adjacent storage bin. I drilled a ¾" hole into the velvet top plate &amp; the underside w/a wood spade bit (cleaner hole) and inserted the cig/light socket. Pre-Wired all the goodies w/spade connectors "easy-crimp" wire taps.

Cig/Light Socket Assembly Inserted w/Wires Tapped to Existing OEM Cig/Light Power</u></b>
<b>(Correct Polarity tapped)</b>

<b><u>Final Result

<img src="http://images.snapfish.com/34243%3A7523232%7Ffp4%3Enu%3D323%3B%3E558%3E459%3E WSNRCG%3D323278747%3A38%3Cnu0mrj">

Final Result (light on / bad pic)
<img src="http://images.snapfish.com/34243%3A7523232%7Ffp47%3Dot%3E232%3C%3D649%3D54%3A %3DXROQDF%3E232369656%3B2%3B3ot1lsi"></u></b></center>

Whatcha guys think ???
Now I can have my cake (Cigarette Lighter w/Flip Feature) and Eat (Touareg Torch) it too !!!

And also an extra socket for other things that may come by ! 8^)

Default i got mine to fit... barely

just pulled back a little on the vertical wall.

You could also get the VW cover for the hole when you're not using it. Props of course - I think I'd like to do the same - only directly under the armrest... cell phone charger, etc.
