he was driving fast in the rain and lost the rear end, and turned into the woods.
My friend is not the smartest driver who should take some time to get used to the way his car handled with sways.

Re: They're lucky compared to what I read about...
I recently read an article about how the Chips have written 20 percent more tickets in Cali for cars traveling over 100 mph than the previous year. They quoted a case where two knuckleheads were doing over 130 mph in a WRX when the knucklehead driving lost control and FLEW off the highway berm, sailed off a 300 foot embankment and impacted into the actual side of a tractor-trailer parked in the breakdown lane of the highway below, instantly fragging both of 'em. Dang, how embarassing for your family, eh? I firmly believe that WRX's can be dangerous. It doesn't have the wheelbase or the weight to keep under control at full speed. Let's see what the insurance rates for that car are next year...Anyhoo, hope your friends are alright. Lesson learned. -out-pd

Any car can become a uncontrolable projectile in the hands of a moron. I wouldn't blame the car...
blame it on the fact that inexperienced/unskilled drivers have access to the caliber of cars (powerwise) that formerly would only be found in the hands of professional drivers (or the very wealthy).
