its understandable that you dont get as much gain as the 1.8T, but its a NA engine..
Most of the money your giving to a chip company is for research and development, not actual $$ per hp... 1.8ts are so easily upgradable because all you have to do is turn up the boost (I know there more involoved)... with a NA engine, you have to try to squeeze every bit out of the engine with timing, air/fuel mixture, but you are limited in what you can do... I would think that a chip+exhaust and MAYBE an airfilter all properly tuned together will yield more hp.. maybe 240??

Wetterauer 3.0L chip. $395 with a 15HP gain + 20ft/lbs.
Updated: Was on sale for $299 Fall of 2003....Might be able to negotiate a price if you call.
Anyone know how much it is to have it installed?

I thought we covered this yesterday ;)
Cost vs. HP is all subjective.
Wett claims 15HP and 20Tq, with their program. But, they don't list the octane rating. Their chip is $395.
Chip and exhaust would be good for 240HP, IMO. There have been a few reviews, all positive and all reporting a very noticable difference in feel and power.

Wow, what it must be like to live in a dream world
Just kidding, but in all seriousness. This is what NA costs. It always amazes me when people try to compare FI vs. NA. If you installed a chip on a 1.8T, but didn't increase the boost, you would only be looking at a few HP too.
$1,400 for chip/exhaust is a reasonable price for 20HP and ~22Tq.

Wow, very expensive. Does anyone know if this is for European version only. My guess is yes.

I guess the deciding factor with Wett is what octane the chip is designed for.
I only get 92 here, and it probably won't ping running a 93 program since it rarely gets over 90. But still, I'm not looking to push it..
