Default After having driven Audi's for the last ten years I am sorry to say...

as much as I love the brand...it is going to be very hard for me to purchase or lease another Audi.

My first Audi was a 98 B5 A4 and I was unsure of the vehicle until I found JET's A4 website...I did all my research there and decided that the A4 was the car for me.

In 2000 I replaced the A4 with a 2000 B5 S4...I was totally in love with that car and the decision to replace it 2003 with a B6 A4 Avant was a tough one, but one that I chose for various reasons.

My 2003 A4 Avant was my third Audi and unfortunatly it may be my last because Audi Financial Services is treating me pretty damn poorly.

My lease ended on June 1st, and I turned in my vehicle a few days early and with 30K miles under the 60K the lease permitted. The car as I left it at the dealer was in fantastic shape except for a scratched wheel which the delaer sales manager said I would get charged $120:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/noeltykay/552856902/"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1044/552856902_e53ce7a918_b.jpg" alt="IMG_2467" /></a>

I was hoping to have the car inspected at my home by Audi's authorized inspection service SGS...but, I made an appointement with them on May 15th and they did not show up on May 15th. On May 16th I left on a biz trip and returned late on May 18th...on Saturday morning May 19th, my wife, my three month old son and I were asleep when at 7:45 AM our phone rang and someone from SGS was at my front gate. I told the guy that he was four days late and I was asleep...I was pissed.

Anyway, the day I turned the car in at the dealer I did a walk through with the dealer sales manager an took pictures of everything. He said that there was nothing pressing on the car..."normal wear and tear" but it is Audi's call...he did mention that I would be charged for the wheel as stated earlier.

I asked the sales manager if he could contact me when SGS arrived and he stated it was doubtful but not to worry b/c I got pictures and it looked pretty good to him.

Well I got my end of lease statement from AFS last week and in addtion to the $120 for the scratched wheel there is a $195 charge for "Other/See Notation V-Bumper/Cover Front". IN addition there are two charges for $55 each. One is "Present/Intact Left-Front Door Trim PNL" and the other is "Other/Special Notation Other/See Notation"

So I call AFS last week asking for defiition of these charges. The rep looks up the report and stated there was damage to the front bumper ($195), the left door trim was gauged ($55) and the see notation was the Audi Cell Phone mount whcih I bought from the dealer...I left it in the the car and they were charging me to remove it...WTF! It's an Audi Part!!!!

Anyway...I ask the rep where I can e-mail the photos I have fromt he day off vehicle drop off to show him otherwaise regarding the damage. He stated I would have to send them via e-mail. I remind him that not once during the term of my lease did I mail them a check...I made payments electronically...surely they can recieve my proof electronically.

Anyway to make a long story short...I contacted AOA who escalated with AFS and I got a call this morning. They offered to reduce the invoice by $110 to settle things. I said absolutly not considering I have pictures proving otherwise.

Here is a shot of the front bumper...

Here is the drivers side door...do you see a gash?

I am pissed and I am not so sure how to handle this issue further. Thoughts?!?!

My thoughts - buy, don't lease. Also, were they talking about the interior of the door?

contact a lawyer and advise AFS and AoA that you have done so.

Default Bah...all I am asking them to do is deduct another $195...

They are willing to side with the inspection company and treat me like crap without sending me the report or evaluating my images then they are going to lose a customer over $195.

Default You wouldn't buy another Audi b/c of a single problem w/ a lease agent totalling $300?

It sounds like you should be able to straighten this out with your evidence.

Default his decision is based on principal and I completely agree with his reasoning

At the end of the day $195 will not make or break the corporate giant or the individual leasing the automobile. Why should anyone who leases a car from any company expect any less than good customer service?

Default You shouldnt judge an international automaker, by the actions of a single dealership...

Its not "Audi" ripping you off, but more that single dealership.

Its well known in these circles there are good dealerships, and bad dealerships.

A lease is just another money maker for the dealership. Basically a long-term rental.

Ya might want to review the fine print of your lease agreement ;o)

Default In 2006 Audi sold 926,180 vehicles, and 1,895,695 engines...

Thats up from 2005, of 811,522 vehicles.

2004 was 784,972 vehicles sold.

Every year, since 1996, Audi sales have steadly risen ;O)<ul><li><a href="http://www.audi.com/etc/medialib/cms4imp/audi2/company/financial_information/pdf.Par.0322.File.pdf">http://www.audi.com/etc/medialib/cms4imp/audi2/company/financial_information/pdf.Par.0322.File.pdf</a</li></ul>
