Test drive found engine runs smoother/quiet'r but not as peppy...

Some folks say these Hitachi coils are lower power, compaired to the newer versions, and the main reason they last longer(?)

Default Am I mistaken or is your crankcase breather pancake valve by your firewall?

What is it doing there, did you change its location (if that's what it is)??? This is actually a great idea, I remember reconnecting that valve being quite a PITA when I installed my APR TIP.

Default According to Audi....

engines built after July 2003, have the valve located where mine is.

Default Oh, I didn't know that....

do you know why they put it there instead, mine is connected directly to the TIP. It sounds like it would be an easy to do upgrade.

Or service for failures. OEMs don't like so called "upgrades" unless they sell them.

Default I think the coils you have are lower power that is why you find them less peppy.

I was looking at getting these coils to 'solve' any future coilpack issues and I was informed by more than one person that they are a lower power version of the R coilpack and while they will work the car will respond differently.

So I decided to upgrade all my coilpacks to the R revision and I have the 2 remaining L revision as spares.

To date I have no coilpack issues, a very smooth idle and the response is quick with the NGK BKR7E spark plugs I am using instead of the OEM platinums.
