Re: ouch... no 30 day warranty???
I have owned the car for 4 months. The dealer called and informed that after I contacted Audi customer relations they would extend an offer of 200$ discount to help me fix the car. So I took the offer.

Search on the Web. Try this link:

Nhsta.gov has a lot of stuff. I only saw the coils mentioned for the sedan when I looked just now. But I recall that was an early model issue mentioned for the cab as well as sedans.
Good luck!

You might want to ask them what exactly happened...
Because typically when a ignition coil (aka: coil pack) fails, it's a simple 5 minute replacement job. A new ignition coil costs about $35. In fact some people keep an extra coil pack in their trunk in case one fails. If it does fail, a simple 5 minute replacement job can be performed on the side of the road. The hardest part is probably trying to figure out which cylinder it occurred on (process of elimination?).
You unhook the harness, pull out the damaged coil pack, insert new coil pack, re-hook up harness and then done.
What they did sounds like they did much more than that.
