Looking for a Cabriolet...please enlighten me:
Pardon my noobness to Cabriolets, but I am looking to buy one for my wife. The first pre-requisite is that it has to have a manual transmission. The second, although optional, is Quattro.
Is my only option an S4 Cab? Because that's totally unnecessary for her. A 3.0L or better yet a 2.0T would be ideal. I can't seem to find any manual Cabriolets anywhere, though...do they exist?
Thanks!

Faced that same problem... Manual OR Quattro, but not both.

I ended up buying a 2006 BMW 330Cic, 6-spd manual, sport package, ipod, premium pkg, etc.
I absolutely love it, though on rare occasions I miss all-wheel drive. I could have bought a second hand S4 cabrio for the same price, but I honestly did not want a V8. With gas well north of $3/gallon, it just wasn't the right move.

Nice car!
The car is going to replace her current car, so it needs to be good for winter use, too. With that said, unfortunately RWD won't work for us in northern Vermont. :-( Otherwise I'd be all over a BMW, too.
Thanks for your input!

How do you like your Milltek fullback res?
I have a 2004 S4 cab (6-speed) and I am thinking about it. Is there a noticable difference in the power/acceleration?
How's the quality and volume (loudness) of the sound vs. stock?
BTW, I put 18" blizzak's on the stock wheels and it works great!
Thanks.

I had the same issue....
and bought the S4 Cab only because I wanted the 6 - speed. You will be really pleased. I bought an '04 with 18K on the clock. Paid $40K last July. You should be able to find some pretty good deals out there.
I'd be willing ot part with mine for the right number. silver/black/black - 30K miles. No mods except for an upgraded stereo and Lidatek laser detector.

Love it. If you search this forum you will find my write up when it was new
At idle, barely any difference. Under WOT, it's sublime. It's a very classy, euro sound. While the sound quality is much improved, if I were not married with kids I would go for the non-resonated. The resonated is a shade too quiet for my taste, although it is nice that my wife does not complain about having a loud exhaust.
If at all possible, listen to an exhaust before you buy it. The only exhaust I could find locally was Labree, and it was way too loud for my taste.
The power is definitely improved, especially over 3,500. It's not a night and day difference, but you will notice it.
My advice to anyone on the fence is to go for it. It makes a huge difference in the car, especially driving top down.
