ADS is leveraging the existing systems in the car for the most part. The only ADS-specific equipment is the rheostatic damping setup. The throttle adjustment is done through the existing drive by wire throttle and all B8s apparently have the variable assist steering standard. The variable ratio part of ADS might require some additional hardware - likely an entirely different rack, but that shouldn't be much of a cost adder.
