I appriciate both Audi and Subaru. I think Subaru's performance history speaks for itself, and Audi as come a long, long ways in twenty years.

Subaru has steadly improved the design elements of the car and they remain reliable and satisfying sports sedans. They are particularly good if you intend on buying and driving for several years.

My 1993 Impreza WRX is still going at 215k! Due to wear and tear, one recent gearbox rebuild and just now, the need for fresh rod bearings, which is not bad considering all the track days it has on it! Zero problems otherwise, even origional starter, a/c pump, P/S pump, zero electrical wiring or switch failures.

We drive an A6 2002 2.7t since new. At that time Subaru did not have the turbo Legacy in the US. Will also consider the GTB next time around.

My dilemma is that the Legacy GT wagon is no longer offered, and the Outback does not handle near as well. The A4 Avant may get the nod as a result.
