    Not for captive lease offers from the manufacturer. The manufacturers set those themselves.

    That's why leasing through the manufacturer's finacial service is often much cheaper than getting a private bank lease.

    While no private leasing agency is going to intentionally write a leasing agreement with a residual value that will cost them significant money at auction at the end of term, manufacturers often do to spur sales.

    That's how BMW got hit with a $370,000,000.00 charge back from auction last year.

    They heavily subsidized their residuals.

    Audi has done it many times too; especially with the A8.
