Don't all AWD systems use sensors to detect wheelspin and then REACT by applying more power to the wheels that don't spin? Even systems that power all 4 wheels at once (Quattro?) will react to wheelspin and reappropriate the power. The haldex systms now being used pre-load the wheels for near-instantaneous reaction times. how does the Quattro system differ? Doesn't it need maintenance as well?
