If manual transmissions are dying , why did Acura develop a new one for the TL SH-AWD?

If anything, Acura drivers typically opt for AT a lot more than German car buyers. I am no fan of Acura and certainly hate the styling of the new TL, but I have to give the company credit for stepping up to the plate and offering a 6MT that caters to enthusiasts. I wish AoA had the same balls (and perhaps customer base and/or sales numbers) to do the following for the B8 A4:

    1) Offer 6MT models at launch
    2) Offer 6MT on the V6 engine as well as the 2.0T
    3) Offer it on at least one Avant model (2.0T makes more sense)

If there's a V6 B8 with 6MT by the 2010 MY, I will be back as an Audi owner. As much as I like the torque rating of the 2.0T engine, I am inclined to pass up the 2.0T model. It's hard to go back to a 4-banger after driving a smooth and powerful inline 6.

Current car: '07 BMW 335i 6MT, Sport, Premium, USB/iPod, rear sunshades, Crimson red on Lemon/black
    Previous car: '06 A4 2.0T 6MT, S-Line, Premium, Technology, Quartz gray/Ebony
