We've been hard at work building up our Audi A4 2.0T S-line, and are pleased to announce that we have a prototype big turbo kit installed and running.

Please note that all of these products on the car inside and out can be sourced directly from A.W.E. Tuning. Let us take the guesswork out of the equation for you and provide you with solutions that work. We do the homework here so you don't have to.

Also note that the turbo kit is not ready yet, and that all numbers here are tentative.

However, we wanted to share some of our findings with you. We recently put down over 400hp to the crank on our in house Mustang AWD dyno using pump 93 oct. fuel.

At the heart of this kit lies a Garrett GT28-71R turbo and a cast manifold. As is, this kit is capable of producing well over 450 HP with full boost by ~3,600 rpm, but it looks like those power levels are going to require internal motor work.

<img src="http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/products/awe/b7_fmic/b7_a4_14.jpg">

We will also be experimenting with a Garrett GT28-RS turbo for those customers who do not want to do internals, or are looking for slightly less lag. The spool up difference between the RS and 71R is about 500-600 rpm. We'll keep you posted on our RS findings once we have that setup installed.

Regardless of which route you are interested in, an A.W.E. Tuning turbo back exhaust including a high flow 200 cel metal catalytic converter will be a requirement.

In an effort to keep intake air temps down, our Engineering department has developed one monster intercooler that fits directly behind the OEM bumper with no cutting or trimming required.

Here you can see a screen shot of our computational fluid dynamics process - CFD means using a computer to predict fluid behavior. This gives us complete control over the design process and allows these designs to be optimized to the fullest extent. And it works. On the above dyno run, intake air temps started at 86 degrees F and ended at 82 degrees - that's 4 degrees less! For comparison sake, with stock intercoolers we see temperature increases of 35 - 45 degrees F during a dyno pull.

We've been running 19" BBS CK's for about a year now, and love the handling benefits these lighter wheels provide. A Brembo 328mm (12.9") X 28mm GT kit was also installed to slow this beast down to a halt and reduce unsprung weight. Both products contributed to an impressive, noticeable acceleration increase thanks to the weight savings. The suspension was replaced by the ever popular Bilstein PSS9 coilover setup.

Default Beautiful!

Couple questions..

Is anything done with the fueling? injectors, pump, etc? I've heard VF is tooling around with fuel pumps, will these start showing up with the AWE kits?

What about the DV, I'm guessing you're switching to a more typical DV solution like the Bailey or is something new planned to use the electronic control like the stock valve uses.

What kind of limitations if any are you seeing with Tiptronics?

Keep up the good work!

Default Re: 400 HP A4 built by A.W.E. Tuning!

Hi all,

I live in Sweden and have just ordered a A4 2.0TSQ(220hp) Avant -08 --&gt; and this is exactly what I'm looking for :=)

I'm wondering if this bolt-on turbo kit will fit euro spec cars?

Thanks,
g_svan
