Default Moon Roof Wind Noise

Has anyone figured out how to adjust the moon roof to reduce or eliminate the wind noise? I know the Bentley has instructions on how to do it, I've just never figured out how.

Closed.

I've had VWs with moon roofs that were absolutely quiet when closed and at speed, but my Audis are much louder.

Default it's pretty easy to adjust the sunroof seal...

Sitting in the drivers seat look up at the seal, you'll see a slot(it looks like a seam) in it that you can stick a "wedge" in and carefully spread the seal out.

What I would do is to try to find out where the seal isn't sealing tight to the roof. Do this from the outside with a business card sliding all around the seal to see if there's a spot you can slide the card between the sunroof and the roof.

Mark the spot and, from inside, spread the seal out carefully to make it seal better. Use something not sharp for a wedge. I used a credit card at first, then improvised with a plastic fork handle (!). Keep checking the fit. It takes patience, but it's really easy.

When you're done, you shouldn't be able to slide the business card in. When you close the roof with the card in between, it should be kind of hard to pull out.

Try that all around the roof to make sure it takes the same effort to slide the card out.

I lucked out and didn't have to remove the sunroof, but if you do, it's not hard. Use that Bentley manual and you'll be good to go.

This made a big difference in my car. The seal was so loose it was sucking air through all my door seals. I couldn't stand riding in the car before I did this, now's it's good.

Default Great write up--move to FAQs

Thanks for the write up. It should be posted in the FAQs. Not sure how to do that.
