Default DIY: Remote FOB Key blade change instructions

<center><img src="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/pics/misc41_uncut_keyblade_change.jpg"></center><p>
pretty straight forward:

use a nail or the back side of a pin to push the black holding part out of the remote

do this over a box or an area where the pin can easily be found again

remove old cut key and place the new uncut one into the remote

hard part: getting the black pin to go back inside. i used my drill press to push it back. worked fine.

go to the dealer or locksmith and have it cut

total cost:
25$ for the remote used on ebay with the key cut off
20$ for the blank

Just wanted to add that the steeler wanted to charge me ?27 ($40) just to change the blade (I provided them with the blade and the fob).

But, if you get a sewing pin (sharp at one end with a cap at the other end) and put it through the hollow pin that holds the key blade in the fob, then grip the other end of the sewing pin and pull it with a pair of grips, the key pin will come out relatively easily.

To put the pin back in, just reverse the above process, although it is a little bit more tricky.
