K04 turbo w/stock 1.8t...how much boost/crank hp?

Hi listers,

My mechanic says my turbo on my '00 1.8tqms is most likely blown and will confirm this tomorrow. He also said the KO4 is only $300 more than the K03, and I can get more ponies out of it, depending on what I'm looking for. The thing is, my car is basically stock right now (clutch/tranny, engine, etc). My only mods are APR chip, forge diverter valve, N75 valve, ATE slotted rotors & mintex pads.

I am wondering what the max level of boost/HP I can safely run with the K04 before putting undue stress on the car. What are your experiences & recommendations? If I do pay extra for the K04 I want to atleast use some of performance gains from it. Looking forward to hearing some feedback!

your going to need programing to take advantage of the K04 gains

Yeah I figured I'll have my APR chip re-programmed. Anyone know how much that typically costs? What kind of gains should I seek safely with a stock car?
