Default Some S4 guys are having SPEC clutch issues........anyone around here too?

Just curious. A new clutch has to be in my future soon (120K on the clock), so I'm starting to do some shopping/research. Here's the thread over on the S4 board. Spec problems

Thanks

Andy

Default Mine has gotten progressively better in the last 20k.

Used to squeal like a dying pig. Now it's fine. I get a bit of chatter in reverse though.

Default i just got a Sachs Sport clutch and pressure plate.

haven't had it installed yet, though, so can't speak for how i like it. but, i don't track the car, so i opted not to go the SPEC/Southbend/AWE/Clutchmaster route...

If i had gone that route, i think i would have gone with Southbend, which i believe is what AWE uses...

Default I think markbradford had an issue with his old clutch...

do a search...I think it was a spec, but I'm not sure (might have been an SB).

Default What did that set-up run you?

Where from? If you don't mind me asking, thanks

Default I think mine is getting better too

It did not hold at first and used to squeel a lot.

It rarely squeels now and I even spun all 4 this morning. Oooopps!

Default i got it from PureMS

talk to Mike... He gave me a deal on the sport clutch, sport pressure plate and stock throwout bearing. Ran me a little under $500 including shipping. I'm going to have my stock flywheel resurfaced.
