Spec flywheel is too light!
I believe the spec flywheel, weighing in at 10.2 lbs, does not weigh enough. Beacuase of this, the flywheel makes some nasty harmonic noises! SKIP!

I had my SPEC II and LWFW installed a week ago.
Just yesterday I hear some noise for the first time. I was sitting at a light with my windows down. I didn't know if the noise was coming from my car or someone else's car. It turns out I heard it because it was echoing off the minivan next to me. The noise was only there when I was in gear with the clutch depressed. Even then, I couldn't really tell it was coming from my car. I had to change gears a couple times to confirm it was mine. I like the LWFW. The noise was far from a chatter as most people describe it.

hmmmm I have an 11lb flywheel, over 1 year on it, and I am not sure what you are hearing...
can you better explain your problems?
I love mine, stock cars feel like crap now.

OH you were running a solid clutch? ah.... that may be your problem...
I am running a solid FW (duh) and a sprung clutch...
flywheel (I put a new surface on it right after this pic was taken)

and the clutch (southbend DXD)

I am on my second DXD and it hold great (then I wore it out)
I get some chatter when the car is in neutral and the AC is one... and by chatter in this case I mean a metal clattering sound kinda...
I love the setup though, wouldn't go back to stock flywheel...
From what I understand, 1 side should be sprung... if you are using the stock flywheel, since it is dual mass, you can use a solid clutch... but it you are using a light weight flywheel, since it is solid, you should have a sprung clutch...

So the spec stage 2 clutch is solid, and doesn't work well with their flywheel?
That's a bummer :-( I was considering getting a spec stage 2 clutch and adding lwfw later. I'd be interested to find out if there is a sprung stage 2 clutch.

well, did you buy the parts together at the same time from SPEC?
did you buy them separately?
I would THINK that SPEC would know what to sell you for your setup... I have never dealt with SPEC, but the southbend website lists their clutches for use with a LWFW or without with separate prices and whatnot.... I got my setup together from southbend, both at the same time and told eddie to give me what I would need, he sent me what you see in those pics above.
I would THINK spec should know that, but I am by no means an expert, just a guy who has been through a few clutches because he REALLY likes 4-5K launches...
