Default also, I've heard noise complaints regarding virtually every high performance tire out there........

Default Hmmm . . . my friend has a set on his Passat . . .

after just 8K miles they sound like off-road truck tires.

Default I'm going to try the SP9000s next. Good wear, performance and traction at a decent price...

... I'm just a little concerned about steering response. They are also one of the quitest tires out there.

Default Yes...

they have a soft sidewall, such that if you are the kind that likes to seesaw on your wheel in hard driving, you won't like em. You have to adapt your driving skills a little for the tire, take your line a little early and hold it...the reward is some serious grip...also makes an excellent street tire since its quiet and comfortable.

Default ok.....well I can find you equivalent complaints about 14 other brands as well.......

it seems to me that the only sure-fire bets for a noise-proof high performance summer tire are very expensive......i.e. SO3 or SP9000

Default I bought Rondell R73s on the edge power buy...

for winter tires... and I am putting the P7000s on those and getting harder core summer tires for the evos.....

thats the plan stan....

the p7000s are nice, but surely a compromise....

No comparison between the SO3s and RE730s IMHO, after having both.
