Welcome to the AdBlue Delete club
So, I eventually accepted my loss and did the previously unthinkable( for me), I had the Adblue electronically deleted from the car.
A couple months go I had already undergone changing to a brand new EGR ( was leaking before), and a DPF rebuild (filter material was recreated). 2 weeks after we were done with this, I got the first waning in the diagnostic about reduced adblue performance. A month later, the issue manifested in my VC, and officially started counting down the mileage before no restarts would be available. The mechanic quoted me 1500 EUR for the combined pump/adblue tank, and a potential 800 EUR for the Adblue module (if needed). We ended up going the "illegal" route with the Adblue delete, and as of today, it was coded out. No more Adblue stress, but a slightly "dirtier" car, in terms of CO2.
I imagine quite a few people have had similar experiences, so if anyone is willing to share, I would appreciate it.
P.S. I don't think I would buy a modern EU6+ diesel car again. They cost more to purchase than their gasoline equivalent engines, and the rate at which the CO2 related stuff is failing, combined with their replacement parts prices, make it a rather costly option compared to ther gasoline/hybrid counterparts...even when you account for the reduced consumption. Unless you are doing more than 25-30K kms annually, go gasoline/hybrid.

I'm thinking of doing the same on mine.
I got an engine light pop up on the dash, scanned the car with my OBDeleven and seems the Reductant (adblue) module has either failed or the wiring to it has. Won't communicate and the adblue level hasnt changed since...
I guess it's not working anyway I may aswell just delete the damn thing haha

Well, I guess that is a lucky error. Lack of communication might be a a blessing in disguise.
If the module is able to communicate and it senses an error, it starts counting down the mileage until you can no longer restart the car...in other words, an (almost) perfectly functional car will simply stop you from using it....until you cough up thousands of money to replace the Adblue components.
