Obviously that's an A4L- not the same as our standard wheelbase A4s

I noticed in the press release the 2019 B9 is rated at 248HP. Is this the result of the new filter they are putting in to comply with new emission standards?

No it is the result of a new calculation method affecting all MY2019-and-beyond Audis. The powertrain is 100% identical to MY2018.

I can't say I'm entirely concerned.

For a stock 3800 lb AWD car with a 2 liter engine carrying at least 800 additional pounds of people and luggage (travel last weekend), it's not too short on acceleration.

Do you know whether it's confirmed that 2019 Audis will have a particulate filter? I read that the refreshed 2019 Macan will have one and am concerned the 2019 Audis will as well.

What is a particulate filter and why would it be bad news? Pardon my ignorance

It is a particulate filter similar to the ones that are fitted to diesels, however it should not have the regeneration issues diesels can sometimes have because the exhaust of a petrol runs hotter.

Is this something for EU-spec cars or North American-spec or both?

There is a good chance models with 3.0T engine would get it. Still uncertain for the 2.0T

None of the 2019 Audi models have particulate filters.
