Expensive before ... and after

I don't want the tread to get hijacked into warranties as I'm sure there are other posts out there.
You can shop around and change things to what better suits you. I got mine through my credit union it is AssureGuard
I paid $3600 for 6 years (2029) and 125K miles. I only had 60k when I purchased it. There were other options with more miles. It also has a zero deductible and pays for a rental car.
As I stated above it already saved me $2500 and if I would have done it earlier it would have paid for the wheel bearing.

The CU report includes total maintenance costs, not just repairs. So this includes things like tires, oil changes, air filters ....
I expect that owners of more expensive cars habitually take there cars to the dealership for routine service and most of us know what Audi dealership labor rates are like. Audi parts prices at the dealership are rather generous compared to aftermarket prices which may be the choice if you use an independent service shop. The 'Audi' listing may include cars like the R8 / R10 which have rather mind buggering oil change cost. No oil changes for the Tesla over 10 years probably drops the maintenance cost by $1000 - $1500 compared to an IC engine. This will bias the outcome of the CU report. Also, a number of Audi models come equipped with extreme performance summer tires with low UTQG ratings. In 10 years if you have to replace a couple of sets of sticky UTQG 200 rated tires that is going to be a significant cost compared to a set of pedestrian all season tires on a Hyundai. Things like where the maintenance is done and tire selections are choices available to the owner.
What might be more interesting is what are the extraordinary maintenance / repair costs. An even more interesting comparison might be how to the extraordinary costs for an Audi A4 compare to a similar Lexus / Infiniti / Acura model.

Im sorry to say that if you bought an Audi, new , used, whatever.....and thought it was going to be cheap........I got a bridge in Baltimore to sell you.
perhaps my better measure is:
1) Customer satisfaction? as an example

Those numbers from Consumer Reports are a bit vague. It doesn't account for miles driven, repair costs by market/location, dealer vs indy, etc. For example, look at the difference between Honda and Acura. I bet a big part of that disparity is because Honda drivers probably go to jiffy lube and Indys, and more Acura drivers go to stealerships.
FWIW - my 10 year total maintenance/repair costs on my 2013 B8.5 is about $7500 including tires (100k miles).
I'm planning to keep this car at least 5-7 years, maybe more. I anticipate larger expenses, such as control arms, dampers, etc as mentioned. But not interested in other cars or a car payment.
