Am I getting all the oil out?
2019 A4 with the 2.0 engine. I'm doing my 3rd oil change using the mytvac mc7201 and I never get 5.5 quarts out. Today it stopped at 4L. Is this normal? I think I've gotten close to 5 quarts before but never the full 5.5. I've tried to make sure the tube is bottomed out completely and I continue to pump for about 30 minutes on and off. Any ideas?

All you can do as a counter test is, if you can lift the car level, such as on quickjacks, is to remove the oil pan plug and see if anything more comes out. Are you getting the oil up to temp and then waiting a half hour or so to let it drain back down? Also, are you removing the oil filter to release the oil cooler drain there, as well as opening the oil fill cap, and letting that drain a bit, and then starting extraction?

Only 4L? The crankshaft is in the way of the drain tube.
Need to rotate the crank a bit.
(Obviously dont start the car now lol)

You spent 30 minutes extracting, so it had all that addition time to drain down anyway. So probably not a delay issue.

I used a Sharpie marker to mark the tube when it's in correctly.
Always be sure to allow the oil filter housing to drain completely, like 5 minutes.
All for next time, I think today you have to pull the drain plug.

I believe the Mytvac only has a clear plastic tube you insert into the dipstick tube. That's your problem. It's difficult to get that tubing all the way to the bottom of the pan because of the diameter. If you're only pulling 4L out you're not at the bottom of the pan. I use a Pela 6000. If you pull that model up on Google you'll see it has a small diameter steel hose with a sheathing over it. It goes down the dipstick tube easily and because it's steel you can hear the tube hit the bottom of the oil pan. I've had mine for years and use it on two cars for 5,000 mile oil change intervals so it gets used. It's extremely durable and very easy to use. The oil should be hot/warm when drained. I drive mine until I see 140 degrees on the gauge and take it home and start the oil change. Hot/warm oil doesn't take 30 minutes to drain back to the pan as light weight synthetic oil is like water when warm. Also you don't need to wait five minutes to allow the filter to drain for the same reason. Break the housing loose and unscrew it until the pressure valve releases. You'll hear the oil drain back into the motor. Remove it clean the housing and reinstall. Don't screw it down and torque it until you're done extracting all of the oil. This whole process, including warm up time, requires no more than 20 to 30 minutes.

The one I have has two hoses - it steps down to a 3/16" or at most 1/4" tube that goes in the dipstick tube. The Pela has a OD of 3/16", so it's the same or very close. It goes down the tube with no problem and seems to bottom out. Also, although I only pull just over 4L out, I put 5 quarts in and was still below max. So am I possibly just burning it? I change every 10,000.
