B8 A4, 6MT: hesitation on cold rainy days?
This is my first car with a turbo so I'm not sure if it should be expected behaviour but here it goes..
I've noticed that on cold rainy days acceleration isn't' smooth at all. It feels like there is barely any power even when I'm taking it really easy. It feels like no power -> average power -> little power -> average power -> little power again. That lasts for 30 - 60 seconds and after that it seems fine, as if some component needed to dry or warm up.
Is this normal behaviour for a car with a turbo? Or did water / humidity get somewhere it shouldn't have? Car sleeps outside and it will also do that after work once I head back home. On a warmer sunny day it doesn't seem to do it. Haven't had any warm rainy day to try it yet.. and I doubt I'll get one anytime soon with the weather we've been having here.

I think that you should take your A4 in for a check with your service department. We have been having cold, wet weather for the last two weeks. We had a hard frost last weekend. But my 2009 6MT Prestige 2.0T starts up just fine. By the time I get out and close the garage door (an old fashond lift and close type from 1939)and return to the car it is running rather smoothly. I back out of the driveway, and pop it into first gear and it zooms, almost too quickly, to 4000 rpm. No hesitation at all going up and the down the gears during the first 10 min. So it seems to me that you may need some type of adjustment. I have never had such a nice, smooth manual transmission. After 9400 miles the car seems to improve with its gas milage better now than at 5000 miles. Good luck.

But that sounds about the length of time it takes for the original poster's hesitation to go away. Plus, his car is parked outside, where it is colder and where you may have things such as condensation building up in some components/pipes. This might be normal, but it seems like it is certainly worth having the car checked out, just for peace of mind.
