Windshield Wipers Problems in Snow
I purchased a 2010 Audi A4 in April and have now gone through two snow days. Both times the wipers caked up with ice instantly and I literally could not see. I needed to pull over and bang the ice off of the wipers; however, this only lasted for about 5 minutes before the ice was caked on again. No other driver seemed to have similar problems. By the way, I have lived in Minnesota for the past 11 years and have never had this issue with another car.
At this point, I believe there is something wrong with the wipers or the design of the wiper/car/mechanism.
Has anyone else had this problem and what is the solution? This is definitely a safety hazard and I cannot drive my car in the snow in this condition.

During severe snowstorms, I've had this problem with other cars. Based on my experiences last week, the A4's wipers work as well as I would expect.

Thanks Pierre for that link. The original post in that link was from 2009 and no one seemed to have a solution. I am hoping that there is a solution and that I did not purchase a car that can only be driven in the summer.
I called the dealer and they also said that it happens to cars. I can believe that in severe weather when other drivers are having the same difficulties; however, the first snow was not severe. No other driver seemed to be having issues during these two snow days. Also, I may have had ice cake up on other cars but not to this extent--where I literally could not see within 5 minutes of cleaning the wipers.
Would appreciate any insight or information.

Keep the defrosters up on high and if you get hot hysterical crack the drivers side window. This helps on the same problem with my s5

These wiper blades are the worst ever in the winter. Call Audi. Scream at your dealer.
On second thought, let's get everyone to file a complaint with NHTSA here:
