Well, Audi almost lost another customer.
Went to the dealership again yesterday. I think I'm most dissapointed with the option packages on the new a4. About $37,500 for a 2.0t with premium plus and sport package. For this money I still don't get dual exhaust or even some nice chrome tips and who knows how the wheels are going to look on it. We ended up ordering an S5. Yes, it's $52,000 but it looks like a supercar sitting next to the A4. It comes with all the options I want, 19" wheels, S line brakes, six speed manual, the v8 motor, etc. Just seems like a whole lot more car for the money even though on paper they are the same design. Now I just have to finalize the color combination. Tough decision.

that's how I felt too when I first went for a test drive...for that money, A4 2.0T does not have chrome tip exhaust, etc
38k is actually without sport pkg
premium plus costs $4,000 & base $33K...if you add sport pkg it goes up to almost 40K for a 2.0T
Not worth the money in my opinion...

The S5 is a nice car. I drove it when it first came out and the lines are outstanding
V8 is nice and linear. The A5 offers a nice blend too.
Since I decided to keep my A4, I purchased a loaded CPO A6 with 25k. For a little over 30K it's a value, (as it was 55k new).

For all their similarities, they really are two completely different cars...
one's a GT, one's an economically-focused entry-level luxury sedan.
I don't doubt you'll love the S5.

V8audihere,
If you were into modding, you could have went aftermarket for a nice set of wheels that you want and a new exhaust and still had nearly 10k under the S5-NOT to mention better gas mileage. but if money is not an option, yes the S5 is well worth the price of admission.
