I'm thinking about powder coating my wheels black. I'm not very impressed with the quality of the pant as every wheel has a small rock chip somewhere(and no they've never come close to touching a curb). Nobody notices them, but I know they are there. Think black would look good on my car?

No. I think it would make the wheels look "dirty." I like the look as they are in your picture.

Black wheels get lost on black sidewalled tires IMHO. I've seen gunmetal wheels look very nice on ibis white, tho some say that gunmetal looks dirty.

The whole thing will indeed end up looking like a shapeless blob of black. It will look terrible IMHO, especially on a white car. People complain about brake dust and then go and paint the wheels a similar dark color.

If the a small rock chips on the alloy are bothering you, how doing think the powder coating will fare after just a few thousand miles?

You have the same wheels as my wife's A4 S-line and I know what you mean about the little dings. I cannot for the life of me figure out how they get there based on their sometimes almost hidden locations. I am not a fan of the black wheel look personally, even on your nice white background. I think they look great just like they are. I find you always judge your own possessions with a much tougher criticism than others. I bet no one else even notices the small imperfections. Good luck either way you decide to go as this is a very personal decision.

Do you have a picture of the ones you want to put on (something similar)? I think it won't look bad but I like what you have now.

Agree with the others... Wouldn't like black wheels on that car.
