Default Oil Change Proof

My 2011 A4 has had it's first two oil changes at the dealer (5K and 15K). I will be changing the oil myself going forward and wanted top quality VW approved oil, I chose Penzoil Ultra Euro 5-40. Since the Penzoil is virtually not available in retail stores (the euro version)I initally ordered three cases of the oil and Mann filters with an extraction pump system from Amazon to make it through my next three changes. Now the issue - what is the best way for me to officially record and prove I changed the oil at regular intervals in case of engine failure in warranty?

Save your oil receipts and keep a date/mileage log of your oil changes. There's nothing stated in the warranty that excludes DIYers, only that it be done with the proper spec oil and at the specified mileage and other scheduled maintenance inspections be done. Audi recognizes that some owners do their own oil changes and should accept your records if push comes to shove. With your records, they would have to prove the oil wasn't changed to void your warranty.

I like to record the data in a log book (or the maintenance log supplied by Audi) and also write the info on the back of the flap from the oil filter box that includes the part number. Since I purchase my oil (and other maintenance related items) online, I've got access to those receipts should I need them at any point. I have been fortunate to never have a warranty related item that called into question my maintenance practices but then again, I've been with the same Audi dealer for many, many years and they are well aware of how well I take care of my cars. That said, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
