so my gf was backing out of the garage and ripped the sat fin on the roof off!! (dont let gf's drive your audi)so i call audi because the next day i go to use my nav and it says im off road in the ocean somewhere? i asked the tech at audi if the fin on top of my roof had to do anything with this problem and of course they didnt know please help!!!

She ripped the sat fin only? Wow. You should consider yourself lucky she didn't scrape the whole roof on the garage door or crushed it!

The fin on the roof houses the sat radio and GPS antennae. Nav won't work until they're properly reconnected. And yes, you're lucky that's all that she damaged.

ok so they are connected....yea got by lucky where can i find the whole fin with all the parts at a good price? and what all do i need?

interesting..........i don't let my husband drive my Audi. well, every so often, but never without me. and even if he does get to drive, i never let him back it out of the garage.

yes - as others have said, that fin contains the GPS antenna...

was the garage door lower or something - how do you get the car in and then rip the fin off backing out? plus, the car is really low to begin with...

ok....will do, maybe you guys can help me and i might be able to rebuild the old one? the whole fin is about 250 on audiparts.com so maybe i can find a cheaper route to go....
